Night Shyamalan. Depois do “I See Dead People” que fez um grande sucesso mundial, muitos disseram que sua carreira foi decaindo. Eu acho que faço parte da pequena parcela que gostou bastante de Sinais e Corpo Fechado esse um pouco menos. E A Vila? Acho que foi um dos mais odiados, eu adorei. A Dama Na Água foi o único filme seu que deixei escapar a oportunidade de conferir nos cinemas, presa fácil para minha lista de filmes a assistir. Porquê eu gosto tanto? Seus roteiros são bem característicos, temos quase sempre uma grande reviravolta na trama, todos os personagens e alguns fatos que achamos banais quando vemos são importantes para história e tem um propósito, e ele também sempre dá uma palhinha aparecendo em seus filmes. Ele consegue fazer você sentir medo de um sujeito fantasiado de Sonic A Vila, ele consegue fazer você ficar angustiado e aterrorizado com medo dos ET´s em Sinais sem ao menos você ter visto um deles quando você vê é o que o filme fica ruim, ele consegue fazer você ficar sem entender nada ao ver que Corpo Fechado é um filme de Super-Herói, ou seja, ele é o cara. Para fazer A Dama Na Água Lady in the Water ele teve que brigar com a Disney, que sempre fica querendo que ele faça um novo 6º sentido, inclusive todos os seus filmes tem nos trailers e poster “Do criador de 6º sentido”. Isso acaba as vezes prejudicando. Neste no entanto tenho que admitir que de seus trabalhos pelo menos os que assisti foi o pior de todos, não acho que tenha tido a ver com o fato dele ter feito o filme de forma independente. O filme é adaptação de um conto de fadas e tem um pouco de sátira no ar. Ele despeja um pouco de sua raiva contra os críticos de cinema, com um personagem bastante caricato e que no filme tem uma cena boba, mas engraçada. Fora isso foi o filme que ele mais participou como ator, e eu confesso que fica difícil levá-lo a sério como alguém que tenha um papel importante na trama. Eu acho que fica muito melhor ele fazer como nos outros filmes, em que ele se portou como um vizinho que prendeu um ET em casa e fugiu pra lagoa, ou quando ele era simplesmente um delegado que resmungava algo. Não tenho como negar no entanto que o filme tem uma história bonita, uma atuação ótima de Paul Giamatti e alguns momentos divertidos. Para quem, assim como eu, gosta dos filmes dele vai acabar achando um bom filme apenas, isso porquê vai ficar vendo por todos os lados as referências marcantes de suas obras. Para quem desconhece estes fatos, e até mesmo nem sabe quem é esse indiano diretor-roteirista-ator provavelmente vai achar o filme um pouco chato e sem grandes atrativos, caso se encontre neste grupo não recomendado assistí-lo.
